Last week, Innovation Lighthouse attended MIPIM PropTech Europe. We spent two days scouting some of the latest innovations and ideas focused on accelerating sustainability in the real estate sector.
Not only did we learn more about promising innovations and companies - like Beeodiversity, Saint Gobain SageGlass, Exploration Architecture biomimicry, EDGE Technologies, Hello Energy, Ingy, and many more - we also heard key insights from thought leaders about sustainable innovation in the real estate sector. Some of our top takeaways:
The real estate sector (including investors, developers, building owners and operators) has tremendous influence over the sustainability of our communities – from reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions, to supporting biodiversity, to enabling social connectedness and wellbeing. Proptech is unlocking new possibilities to accelerate sustainability throughout the building lifecycle
Technological innovation, social innovation and policy innovation are all needed to unlock sustainability in buildings. New collaborations and out-of-the-box thinking are needed to achieve this
Sustainable buildings are ultimately about improving the livability of the places in which we live, work and play. To scale sustainable buildings, we need to shift the focus away from costs, and broaden the conversation to address how buildings are creating new value for our communities
Don't forget to sign up for our newsletter where will will dive into some of the latest examples of how proptech is enabling sustainable buildings.
