I'm Sarah Marchionda, Project Manager at Innovation Lighthouse.
I joined Innovation Lighthouse to help bring innovators, real estate companies, researchers and other experts together to test and scale up promising ideas and technologies to make buildings more sustainable. I am focused on many topics, ranging from reducing energy, water and waste, to promoting resilience, health and wellbeing.
Prior to joining Innovation Lighthouse, I worked in consulting, non-profit and research organizations in the field of sustainable urban development. In these positions, I looked specifically at how urban-level players like real estate companies, technology companies, utilities and governments can support the transition to energy efficient, low carbon and healthy communities. I have also participated in volunteer committees with the Canadian Institute of Planners and International Energy Agency with the goal of promoting a higher standard of sustainability in the development sector.
I am an urban planner, originally from Welland, Ontario in Canada, and currently living in Delft. I hold a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University in Montreal and a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning from Ryerson University in Toronto.
